{"id":4097,"date":"2013-08-19T02:02:36","date_gmt":"2013-08-19T08:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.delirium.org\/?p=4097"},"modified":"2013-08-19T02:02:36","modified_gmt":"2013-08-19T08:02:36","slug":"ultimate-iron-man-demon-in-the-armor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delirium.org\/?p=4097","title":{"rendered":"Ultimate Iron Man: Demon in the Armor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.delirium.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/518iRfWjZWL._SY346_.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4100\" alt=\"518iRfWjZWL._SY346_\" src=\"http:\/\/www.delirium.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/518iRfWjZWL._SY346_.jpg\" width=\"224\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/delirium.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/518iRfWjZWL._SY346_.jpg 224w, https:\/\/delirium.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/518iRfWjZWL._SY346_-194x300.jpg 194w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a>The perplexing thing about Ultimate Iron Man is how really well he&#8217;s written in the Ultimates (and in any guest role he performs in other comics, usually Spider-Man), yet how mediocrely he&#8217;s written on any of the few occasions he gets his own title.[1] Continuing this trend (and the trend of really generic collection names) is <a title=\"Ultimate Comics Iron Man by Nathan Edmonson, at Amazon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Ultimate-Comics-Iron-Nathan-Edmonson\/dp\/0785166173\" target=\"_blank\">Ultimate Comics Iron Man<\/a>, in which Tony learns that a Chinese conglomerate calling itself the Mandarin is in the midst of a decidedly hostile takeover of Stark International.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s by no means a bad story, and in fact the &#8220;romantic&#8221; subplot is basically great.
